Why subscribe?
Social Media gives me the sads, and publishing on Substack is a way around it. With Substack, my writing gets delivered right to you into your inbox all because you said “Yes, m’am”.
The algorithm is a fickle pre teen biatch who is always changing her mind. She only likes me if you give me likes, and honestly, most of the time she makes me feel bad about myself.
With Substack, we can just ignore her, order a pile of fries, sit at our own table and be besties. Subscribe to get full access to the newsletter and never miss an update by becoming a paid subscriber.
Also, with Substack, I get paid sometimes which is really nice.
I love writing - really, I do. Like I want to make babies with it, but it is work. I believe artists (ahem, yes, I did call myself that) should get paid for their work and content, and so I’m charging for what was once free.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m charging less than Starbucks charges for a cup of coffee. I’m keeping it accessible, however I am acknowledging that I have value in the writer’s market.
If you are investing in my content, it helps me feel safer to share about some personal topics that I’ve been tucking under the rug all these years, simply by virtue of us having said “yes” to one another.
Never fear, if I’m just not in your budget right now, there will still be the opportunity to get free content from me as well. It won’t be as frequent, and it might not be as raw, but I want my thrifty babies to be a part of the party too.
No matter what kind of a subscriber you are, I think you’re the coolest, and I’m so happy you’re here.
